  12. I have been having problems in the past with my Dell HD floppy drive.  I
  13. found the source of the problem.  The drive is simply plug n' play if you
  14. have at least a 2.0 ROM and 2.1 WB.  Read below. 
  15.                                                                             
  16. I got my Dell working again! I can fill up a disk(1.76meg or 1.41meg) and
  17. have it 100% error free.I didn't use a mountlist,I didn't use dosdrivers. 
  18. I'm only using the trackdisk.device.  I found out on the newgroups some
  19. time ago that Dell drives are particularly sensitive to radio frequencies
  20. from inside the computer,(CPU and other stuff) but I never paid any
  21. attention to it. I took the top off of the computer to play around with
  22. the floppy jumpers.  I had everything opened up, and ready to start on the
  23. jumper's.  I set the Dell behind the computer, then decided to try to
  24. format a HD floppy once more to see if the problem might've been rf noise.
  25. Bingo!  It worked just fine. So,...if your having problems wit your Dell
  26. HD floppy drive, it migt be 'cause you have it sitting on top or too close
  27. to your computer.  Incidentally, I'm using a 2.0 ROM 2.1 Workbench.
